Circle Shear
The Forrest clamping mechanism has a quick-action lever to same time, and hardened cams for longer wear. A snap ring holds the top clamp bearing in place. The bottom clamp plate has a removable, reversible center pin. The mechanism will hold the blank flat, unmarked or with a 1/16-in. pilot pin, or with a 1/4 in.-diameter through-pin locked in both clamps.
Proper blade adjustment is the most important factor in cutting a clean edge. The exclusive Forrest hanger adjustment mechanism simplifies blade setting. Just loosen the set screw and turn the hanger adjustment knob to set the distance (gap) between the blades. Guesswork is eliminated because blade control is precise. There are no nuts or collars to loosen and no movable shaft to tap into position. This exclusive Forrest feature makes accurate blade adjustment quick and easy.
Another exclusive Forrest feature is the two-way diameter adjustment mechanism (optional on 42-in. model). For making small-diameter changes and precise settings, the diameter adjustment wheel changes the diameter 1/4 in. per revolution. For making large changes in the diameter setting, the adjustment mechanism can be disengaged, alloying the tail stock to slide along the rail.
